What Other People Just Like You Are Saying About
Sarah Conover Physical Therapy...
Terri P. overcame disrupting dizziness and is now working and traveling regularly."I found my vestibular physical therapist after determining that my 'normal' doctors were unable to find the source of my extreme 'dizziness' and feelings of unbalance. My life was becoming totally disrupted by something that seemed to be coming from my eyes and ears. This was very frightening to me. My physical therapist taught me exercises that would retrain my brain to accept sights and sounds. Initially, I could barely perform the prescribed exercises and they did make my condition worse for a short time. With much time, and extreme patience, knowledge, and teaching from my therapist, I was able to perform all the exercises and to begin to understand what was wrong with me. I have no doubt that the knowledge and expertise of my vestibular physical therapist is the thing that allowed me to have my life back."

Barb M. was able to conquer the daily ups and downs and is back to enjoying all her life has to offer."Vestibular rehab has helped me be able to navigate through life. Before rehab going into a big box store was so overwhelming that I would always break out into a sweat and be exhausted after leaving. Lowe's was my home away from home. Now with the skills I have learned from rehab I am able to be in the store more comfortably and for longer periods of time. I am also able to re-center my head on days that I have done too much turning or bending over which happens when I am in the kitchen for long periods of time. I keep my "head turning" exercises close at hand so I can get to them quickly. I've learned how to control my focus to keep better balance. I went zip lining in a cave in Louisville not too long ago and this skill helped me cross the rope bridges that I did not know were going to be part of this experience. Hiking can be tricky due to the uneven surfaces you walk on but my exercises during therapy have helped me be able to navigate through tree roots, holes and uneven rocks, I may not be as fearlessly as before, but I can still do it. I truly feel like I can continue to try just about anything I want to due to my vestibular rehab therapy."

A Personal Message from Specialist Physical Therapist, Sarah Conover...
Sarah Conover
Vestibular, Concussion, And Balance Specialist |
Are you frustrated by dizziness or balance problems? Are you disappointed because unsteadiness or fear of falling is holding you back from working, driving, traveling, or other activities you love?
In my 30+ years as a physical therapist, I have come to know hundreds of people like you. I have heard stories of inability to work, travel, study, or play. Along with balance problems, many times, comes anxiety and isolation. Doris was an active professional. In the years since her retirement, 15 years ago, her health declined. With this came the onset of a chronic disease, as well. Little by little, she sat more and more. Finally Doris found herself consulting with me about why she was so unsteady, and asking if there was any hope of returning to her gardening, regular bicycle riding and long fun shopping days with her two grand daughters. The effect of a balance problem goes much deeper than the physical impairments. My mission is to help get people like Doris back to the parts of their lives that are difficult and worrisome because of the fear of falling. You don’t have to sacrifice parts of your life over problems that can be fixed. That’s why we made this free guide just for you. You see, most people with balance issues ask us the same questions…
We have good news: you may not have to “live with it”. Most people I see can improve their balance with simple regular exercises and daily routine changes. Most people get stuck trying to make a decision about what to do next. They go days, weeks, months (even years!) without taking action. The one thing we know, is that by doing nothing, your balance may not get better, and in fact, it may decline. So the next important thing is to take action. |
